Janet Varney Confirms and Unconfirms Book 2 Release Date!

On March 26th 2013, Janet Varney (Who is the voice of Korra), has tweeted that Korra will be released in April 2013!

Check out her tweet here:
Hopefully Janet is correct, and we will DEFINITELY get Book 2 next month!
However, afterwards she also tweeted this:

So this means that Korra will probably NOT be released in April which is pretty bad news. However I am thinking that because she said it was a "Misinformation alert" and she could have been slightly mistaken and meant that we will be getting a trailer OR Book 2 release date in April instead!

Why is Azula's fire blue?

As we've all always wondered, I'm about to explain why Azula's fire is blue.
This article contains spoilers of The Search Part 1 so please stop reading immediately if you do not want spoilers. Alternatively, you can check out The Search Part 1 here.

Azula is arguably the most powerful firebender in the Avatar universe.
In The Search Part 1, Firelord Azulon wanted Ozai and Ursa to have kids together. He wanted them to have kids together because Ozai is the future Firelord and Ursa is a descendant of a past Avatar (Roku), and since they both have such a strong and powerful bloodline, their children's bending would be highly enhanced and their bending would be very powerful and unstoppable.
As it was revealed that Zuko is not Ozai's son, it would make sense that he doesn't have blue firebending because he doesn't have the strong bloodline from the Fire Nation royalty's side of the family. Which means Azula would be the only one out of the two siblings who is a descendant of the Firelord AND the Avatar.

What do you guys think of this? Be sure to post your thoughts and check out my youtube video of this here.

MOMOCON: Airbending WILL have a sub element!

Following the news of Lin Beifong's father, at Momocon, it has been revealed that airbending will have a sub element.

Fire has lightning, Earth has metal and Water has blood. What will be air's sub element?
Now a lot of people have been saying that air's sub element will be sound but I dont really think that could contribute much to the series neither be interesting. Bryke are very good at story lines and plots so maybe they could find an appropriate way to incorporate soundbending into the series.

I was thinking that it could be something to do with manipulating the weather or converting air into carbon dioxide, but then again that could be a silly idea too.

Will this new technique be revealed in Book 2?

MOMOCON: Lin's Father WILL be revealed in a future episode!

Recently at a major Avatar event called "Momocon" it was revealed that Lin Bei Fong's father will be revealed in a future episode of "The Legend of Korra".

Who could possibly be Lin's father? Is he still alive in The Legend of Korra?
Lin's father could actually be dead and may be revealed via the Spirit World in Book 2 (since Book 2 is primarily focusing on the Spirit world).

Information on this topic is very thin, however my personal guess at who her father is, is Haru. Although he did briefly have a thing for Katara I thought something may have happened between the two of them after the war ended. This probably didn't happen although its always fun to speculate!

Grey Delisle Will Be Voicing THREE Book 2 Characters!

Voice actress of The Last Airbender's Princess Azula (And many other famous roles such as Vicky from Fairly Odd Parents), Grey Delisle will be voicing not one but THREE characters in The Legend of Korra Book 2!
Grey Delisle who is notoriously known for voicing villains, will make sure Book 2 kicks off with a bang!
Grey has revealed earlier this year that she will be voicing a character named "The Dark Spirit". And exclusively today has revealed that the second character she is voicing "Will be a well established character [a character we already know and love] who was a victim of a traumatic event in their earlier life".
This has been heavily speculated to be Toph's daughter, Lin Beifong. This could also be an opportunity to expand on the plot of who is Lin's father and how exactly did she get those three scars on her face?

Personally I think the character is Azula. Azula had a traumatic past and it seems fitting that she will be voicing a younger version of a character.

At this time, information on her third character is currently unknown. However we will get information on this character VERY SOON, so stay tuned and keep reading my blog!

The Legend of Korra Books 2, 3 & 4 WILL NOT Be A Series Arc

It has recently been confirmed by Nickeloden that The Legend of Korra Books 2/3/4 WILL NOT be a story arc.

Will the characters from Book 2 be returning to future episodes?
Like most of you, I too was hoping for The Legend of Korra to involve a story arc (At least a two book arc) like The Legend of Aang and how it span out over three books.

Don't get too disappointed though, it's still early days and anything could happen in the meantime of now and Book 3!

Desna and Eska - Korra's twin cousins!

Korra's cousins were confirmed today by Bryan Konietzko to be caleld Desna and Eska!

The male twin (left) is called Desna,  and the female twin (right) is called Eska! Do you remember these two from Comic Con 2012?
All we know about these two characters is that they will be important in Book 2, their names are Desna and Eska and that they are both waterbenders!

Thats all for now guys, see you in the next post!

Could this be the release date of Book 2?

Now since we didn’t get a release date from Nick Upfront, I’ve decided to work out my own idea of the release!
Before I start: An important fact in this is that a single episode of nearly all animated TV shows takes 9 months to be complete.
(Each episode takes 9 months, however they make the whole series at the same time/back to back)
The Legend of Korra Book 2 began production in late June 2012 so around nine months from then would be the end of March. Conveniently, on March 29th (The end of March) Janet Varney (The voice of Korra) will be hosting a Korra panel at a convention called “Anime Matsuri Con”.

We will be seeing a lot of Spirit World related things when Book 2 starts

Janet Varney's convention would be the perfect time to debut a new trailer or information about Korra (Since by then production of Korra should have finished)!
Either ways, after the show has finished it’s nine months of production it will be late March / early April, Nickelodeon will probably do around a month of promotion for the new series so the release date should be May 4th!
I decided on May 4th due to the fact that new episodes of The Legend of Korra have always debuted on Saturdays and May 4th is the first Saturday in March. By picking May 4th, we will have a month (April) of Korra promotion and maybe one or two trailers to build up our anticipation.
So if this idea is right, then The Legend of Korra Book 2 will begin airing from Saturday 4th May 2013!
Thanks for reading my post everyone!

LOK: Michael Dante DiMartino posts new Book 2 Image!

Very recently Michael Dante DiMartino posted an image of The Legend of Korra Book 2 to his tumblr. Take a look here:
Bolin and Korra's two twin cousins are in this photo.
Korra's two twin cousins can be seen in this photo as can Bolin! Sadly, there is nothing to speculate about this but keep following my blog and subscribe to my youtube for more!

Official LOK book 2 screenshot!

So this morning, an official screenshot (which is currently in development, not a final result), has been surfacing the internet a lot. So basically if you look below you will be able to see it.

Is Korra about to enter the Avatar State?
If you look closely, you can see that Korra is angry and it looks like she has climbed over a fence into private property (or a secret location may lie ahead). If you look in the background you can see something that looks like a fire, so maybe someone has suddenly attacked the water tribe village and Korra is chasing after them.
